I got cave story in English today. I don't know how to get out of the mimiga village level! I went to every door possible, but it says that Sue is in the house at the bottom. I can't go to the grave yard because of the stupid bunny standing there. It says Arthur house is locked. Help please?

If you know how to put it on, you won't poke your eye out.

I think the optometrist (eye doctor) would tell you how to put it on properly if you do get contact lenses.

You're supposed to get the trinket from the far western room (the one with the fishing mimiga and the fish that can hurt you) (The trinket sparkles, btw, so just press up there) and THEN go to the lower right house before heading to the graveyard to get the key to Author's house.

Okay, I'll try my best to make it easier to understand:
- Go to the Reservoir (it's to the left of the save point).
- Go to the Mimiga there, the one with a fishing rod.
- Go down into the water, interact with the trinket (the down arrow key, usually), then quickly get out of the pool
- Leave the Reservoir
- Go to the Shack (it's in the lower right part of the village)
- Enter and go deeper
- Attack the Mimiga (just to stop it from attacking you)
- Defeat a boss
- Go to the graveyard door and talk to Jack (the Mimiga in front of the door)
- Go inside
- Go to the large grave at the top, but be careful of the toad-like thing there, it can only be attacked when it raises its sword
- Get the key from the grave
- Go to the lower left house in Mimiga Village (Arthur's house)
- Use computer
- Use teleporter (the thing next to the computer)

Thanks, I might want to make a mod after I finish the game, but I am somehow getting like computer to my brain file sender, that tells me what to do.

Just to let you know, try looking up a guide to get the best ending for the game, as most likely, without one, you'd miss out, since you need to do certain things to get it.

Otherwise, you can only get the bad ending and the normal ending.

yup, I am using a guide to help me now. I found it on the cavestory.org website. Pretty good, though I am still not done with grasstown. Long level, isn't it? Also, I am at the part when you have just killed balrog when he is flying. He sent my polr star to level 2! I worked so hard to get it there!

Yes, my progress somehow just went away. But now I can play the game smoothly because I know everything until egg coridor.

Maybe I'll also download Shane's Cave Story. who knows?

Which operating system do you use? Windows XP? Windows 7?

I tried downloading it on my own computer. This one is a WIN XP. The other one I used was my mom's, a WIN 8. Seems like she deleted my Cavestory folders..... Darn that. I have to start over here. Maybe tomorrow, because I have stupid homework.


Also, I had a dream today. I was at Shane's house, and we trained together. That was so fun. But then I found out that I had overslept. I woke up at 10:30am. And then I wished that my dream was real. Because I dont get dreams. And when I do, they are mostly good ones. The few nightmares formed my fears.

Cave Story should be compatible with WinXP, due to how old the original game itself is.

Anyway, Dreams are simulations of one's mind while they asleep.

They're there to play scenarios and keep the brain busy while your body rests.

It's not often someone remembers their dreams, so it may seem to them that they don't dream, but in fact, they did.

I think it's only dreams that had an effect on oneself, as well as dreams you may want to remember (like subconsciously) and maybe lucid dreams (where one's aware that they're dreaming within the dream) you may remember

Yeah, my previous computer was an XP, until it started crashing randomly - and upgrading to Windows 7 didn't really help.

Yes it works. Seems that when I patched the English Patch something went wrong. I used a prepatched version from cavestory.org. They put the prepatched versions only a week ago!

Also, I am think of going with a Science fiction theme of my mod. So Technologic wins.

Also, patching things manually tends to make chaos on my PC, so pre-patched stuff is better in my opinion...

Shane, your computer crashing randomly could be hardware problems.

Shane's been grounded!

When his parents went to go shopping, he turned his computer on and e-mailed me, and said that he'd only do it when he knew he had a chance to do so unnoticed... He said that I should tell everyone here:

Speaking of which: when you start with your mod, you'd need to convert all ".pbm" files to ".bmp" and save those files as 24-bit using the Save As option in Paint. Otherwise just saving it (without saving it as a 24-bit bitmap image) would result in the colours being ruined entirely.

Well, I'll probably ask for help regarding facepics in the future; I won't have facepics in version 0.5 of my mod because it's just an exploration mod of the first three starting points.

Anyway, I'll be writing a chapter for SCS0, just in case Shane asks me to. Two days ago he mentioned that he had a favour to ask of me for that story.

Shane sent me another e-mail when his father went to work and his mother went to go shopping.

He'd have a lot of backreading to do then, and, knowing him, he'd be too lazy to even do so, just skipping to the present.

Anyway, I guess I'll post the "spell book" he e-mailed to me on Saturday, which I helped with (in terms of spell descriptions). I even added a few extra spells, he allowed me to.

The only way that would be possible is if either your connectors are faulty, dirty or if your motherboard doesn't properly support that particular model of that DVD-drive.

It should support DVD-drives, since DVD's have practically replace CD's as a means of data storage.

Unless it's very old.

Believe me, I'm a computer boffin (I had been on computers since I was very small).

Well, it had been seven years old... and the motherboard did support DVD-drives.
